FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
